The WD Web Company was founded in 1996. In 1997, the company pioneered one of the first online shopping carts created for photographers. Since then WD Web has branched out and is now the parent company of 6 major subsidiaries, including World In Art.

WD Web is located in Traverse City, Michigan, and specializes in website design and development using ASP, Csharp, CSS, HTML5, and Javascript. The company has designed and consulted on thousands of websites. All of WD Web’s design and programming is done in-house by highly qualified programmers and developers. WD Web also maintains dozens of on-site servers to handle the hosting needs of its clients if needed.

In January 2022, Heaven Firestone took over World In Art and all of it's creative direction. As an artist of multiple facets, she believes, "you shouldn't have to be just ONE thing when you grow up." She is working endlessly to help other artists and creatives make a sustainable income with their artwork and creations as well as build a global social community that is for artists, by artists.
